Ballet & Pointe
Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization as well as fun and innovative choreography.
Jazz Exams available by Instructor Invitation.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, it provides grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in all other areas of dance. Ballet classes will help dancers with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

Pointe is only available by instructor invitation.
Tap dancing is an energetic dance style where students learn rhythm, style and technique through percussive footwork. Tap develops strong coordination and a sense of timing and musicality.
Hip Hop is an umbrella term as there are many styles and techniques of Hip Hop such as locking, funk, krump, house, and whacking. This class is filled with the latest popular dance steps and music. Students will get a taste of several styles and be able to use basic steps to create explosive Hip Hop moves and find their own unique style as a Hip Hop dancer. All these elements make the dance exciting, energetic and inspiring.
Acro is a unique blend of gymnastics and dance that has quickly become one of the most popular forms of dance. Acro will instil flexibility, strength, balance and other important aspects that will transfer over nicely to other genres of dance.
PRE-REQ: Dancers in competitive levels must register in a ballet or jazz class.
Exam opportunities available by Instructor Invitation
Modern dance is a dance style that rejects many of the strict rules of classical ballet, focusing instead on the expression of inner feelings. Modern dance was created as a rebellion against classical ballet, emphasizing creativity in choreography and performance.
PRE-REQ: Must be enrolled in a Jazz or Ballet Class.
Lyrical combines the best of ballet with the raw energy of Jazz and a dash of modern. It is one of the most expressive forms of dance. Lyrical requires excellent technique to perform, as the moves are often difficult and precise. The goal is to help dancers learn to convey the emotions of a song by making them aware of their facial expressions, and body movements.
PRE-REQ: Must have a minimum of 1 year ballet experience and be enrolled in a ballet class.
The musical theater program at Dancers Edge is best described as an upbeat style of dance combining Broadway jazz, lip-synching and a whole lot of acting!
PRE-REQ: Must be enrolled in a jazz class.
The Crew is Dancers Edge Studio Company program. The purpose of the performance company is to introduce our dancers to high caliber choreography and extra performance opportunities. The Crew will work towards 1-2 numbers in their respective groups.
PRE-REQ: Must be enrolled in a solo/duet at DE, enrolled in a jazz and ballet class at DE, have a minimum of 1 year with DE, Attend the DE Crew Summer Camp
